Blow to TSC as head-teacher is killed in a nasty love triangle: A somber mood engulfed the residents of Bumula Constituency in Bungoma County after they found the lifeless body of the head-teacher of Lunao Primary School in his home.

According to eyewitnesses, family members discovered Fred Lunani’s body in his home. Whoever killed him covered his body with blankets in what appeared to be a very brutal murder. Mr. Lunani’s relatives were in deep sorrow as they narrated the sad story to the police.

A woman who the victim’s relatives found inside the scene of the crime is in police custody to assist with investigations. Many people have suspected a possible love triangle. The victim’s killers tied his hands and legs before committing the heinous act. That is how the eyewitnesses concluded that it was a case of homicide.

The deceased’s wife was disappointed

The victim’s wife expressed her disappointment in the manner in which the assailants murdered her husband.

“How can they tie him, and kill him like a thief yet he is a whole headteacher who has served humanity with diligence?” wondered the deceased’s widow.

The Mumias East KNUT secretary general, Ephraim Mukamani, condoled with the family of the deceased. He urged the police to leave no stone unturned. The union leader stressed that the police must speed up their investigations. That is the only was they can serve proper justice.

Former area Member of Parliament apologizes to the victim

Those who knew Mr. Fred Lunani, like Maurice Makhamu (former Member of Parliament, Bumula Constituency), described him as a humble man who did his job with the utmost humility. He emphasized that Fred was a peaceful man who would have never hurt a fly.

“Mr. Lunani was a very peaceful man who was always focused on community development and helping the less fortunate,” said Hon. Makhamu.

Another crime of passion in Eldama Ravine

In other news, another woman is in police custody after she killed her husband using a machete. Vincent Kiprotich, who was a member of the Special Operations Group at Wargadud in Mandera, met his death in his own home in Eldama Ravine. His brother discovered his badly wounded body and rushed him to the hospital, not knowing that he was long dead.

The late Kiprotich’s wife tried to escape but the police managed to fish her out of hiding. Crimes of passion and gender based violence have become very common nowadays. People should learn to manage their anger.
