How to Apply for Inter-University Transfer through the KUCCPS Portal: The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has now opened Inter-Institutional Transfer (IIT) applications. This will allow students placed for the 2024/2025 cycle to switch institutions or change courses. Remember, you must meet the required cut-off points and gain approval from the new institution for you to be successful.
Application Instructions:
- Log In: Visit the Student’s Portal at http://students.kuccps.net.
- Access Transfer Application: Click on the “Transfer Application” tab on your dashboard.
- Enter Details: Input the code for your desired institution and program.
- Specify Reason: Select the reason for seeking the transfer.
- Make Payment: Pay Kshs. 1,000 as per the provided instructions (detailed below).
- Submit Application: Use the eCitizen Payment Reference Code to submit your transfer application.
You can monitor your application’s progress through the Student’s Portal. Both the receiving and releasing institutions must endorse your application, and this status can be tracked online.
If the receiving institution does not endorse your transfer application, you will be notified via the portal. It will then advise you to choose another program within the same or a different institution.
Once they receive endorsements, KUCCPS will process the transfer request. After approval, download and print the transfer letter. Make sure to submit a copy to your new institution to receive an admission letter and joining instructions.
IIT Payment Procedure:
- Initiate Payment: After clicking the Submit button in the online application form, a pop-up will appear with a “Click Here to Pay” link. If you have already paid, enter the Payment Reference Code from eCitizen.
- Redirect to Payment: Click the link to be redirected to the eCitizen payment instructions page.
- Select Payment Method: Choose your preferred payment method from the available options and proceed as instructed.
- M-PESA Payments: For M-PESA, click the relevant button to view payment details. This includes the Business Number (222222), Payment Reference Code, and the required amount.
- Complete Payment: Use the M-PESA Menu on your phone to make the payment, following the given instructions. Enter your M-PESA PIN and send.
- Submit Payment Reference Code: After completing the payment, enter the eCitizen Payment Reference Code in the provided slot. Now click “Submit”. Retain this Ref. Code for any subsequent changes to your application. Do not use the M-PESA transaction code.
Final Steps:
Enter your KUCCPS Student’s Portal password to complete the submission. Once successfully submitted, a flow chart will be displayed on the application page to help you track the status of your application.
