With less than 10 days remaining before the 2024 exam registration elapses, KNEC has sent very important final instructions to centre managers. The centres affected include those for the KPSEA, KILEA, QT, and KCSE examinations.
Finalize registration of candidates by March 22, 2024
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) expects all the centre managers to finalize the registration of candidates by Friday, March 22, 2024. They will then use the remaining few days to do the following:
- Print the nominal rolls. Nominal rolls are very difficult to download when the servers are too busy. That is why KNEC is advising centre managers to download them before the final day of registration.
- Verify the candidates’ entry details. This must be done because there is no room for the correction of errors. The entry of subjects must be 100% accurate.
- Validate the data to correct errors.
- Check to ensure that you have no erroneous names and subject selections. The learners are very instrumental in achieving this. Let them check their subject selections to ensure there are no wrong entries.
- Verify the details of candidates with disabilities.
No Late Registration
Remember, the data must be 100% accurate since there will be no late registration. In the past, KNEC used to allow late registration for a fee. However, that is no longer possible because of the high number of candidates at different levels of examinations.
Group 4 subjects scores
KNEC has also warned KCSE centres with Group 4 subjects to upload marks for milestone I before the portal closes at the end of the month. Group 4 subjects include agriculture (443), art and design (442), drawing and design (449), computer studies (451), home science (441), woodwork (444), metalwork (445), building and construction (446), power mechanics (447), electricity (448), and aviation technology (450).
All the Group 4 subjects have projects that are marked at the school level. The subject teachers supervise the projects and upload marks to the KNEC portal for both Milestones I and II. The final date of uploading marks for Milestone I is March 31, 2024.
KNEC reiterates that there will be no late uploading of marks.
KPSEA Centres
KNEC has also reminded KPSEA centres that the ‘add learner button in Grade 6’ is now activated. Centre managers can now register eligible KPSEA candidates without assessment numbers.
The giant examination body has instructed the county and subcounty directors to sensitize the centre managers accordingly. The centre managers will only print nominal rolls after the sensitization exercise.
