Whatsapp enabled mobile phone users could be locked out after the app owners made that decision.

The company announced it would disable services in a wide range of smart phones.

the messaging app has enlisted 43 smartphones operating on Android and iOS which will be affected by the directive.

The directive will take effect as from November 2021.

This means that these phones will not be able to use all Whatsapp services

The scheduled changes are aimed at improving user experience and efficiency in new generation smartphones

Those with an operating system of Android 4.0.4 and iPhone with iOS and below will be incompatible with the messaging App.

The affected Smartphones include;

In essence, the new modifications mean that user data will be shared easily with Facebook for the sake of ad targeting.

In other words, your Whatsapp activity will be mined to help Facebook decide which companies to advertise on your page.

Your phone number, IP address, details of your data transactions, purchase history will be shared.

Your payment and product interactions with other users will also be shared.
