Ali Kiba Surprises Jalango By Revealing His Favorite Kenyan Song And Musician

34-year-old Tanzanian singing sensation Ally Saleh Kiba, best known by his stage name Ali Kiba was Jalango’s guest today on his popular online TV show Bonga na Jalas. The soft spoken award winning artiste responded freely to the former Papa Shirandula actor’s witty questions.

If you are his ardent follower, then you must have noticed that King Kiba rarely promotes companies as a brand ambassador. He is seldom involved in brand ambassadorial gigs. This is because companies are not able to match his budgets in most cases.

“Hawafiki bei (they don’t match my budgets). I don’t like being taken advantage of,” Ali Kiba told Jalas when he asked him about it.

When asked whether he listens to Kenyan music, he responded in the affirmative. But it is his favorite Kenyan song that surprised Jalas.

“I love listening to Tony Nyadundo’s song, ‘Ndoa Ya Mapenzi’,” said the Cinderella hit maker as he hummed to the song enthusiastically.

But he added that he listens a lot to songs by Nyashinski, Wahu, Nameless, Otile Brown and the OG himself, Khaligraph Jones. He stressed that Tanzanians support Kenyan music a lot. According to him, artistes like Sauti Sol, Otile Brown, Nyash and Khaligraph can pull serious crowds in Bongoland.

When challenged about supporting other musicians to be big like him, Kiba revealed that he supports people like K-tuga, Tommy Flavor, and his brother Abdu Kiba all of whom are from Kings Music.

Why do you Bongo artistes like competing a lot?” Jalas posed the question.

To which Ali Kiba replied, “Competition is good but personally I do not compete because I want to be myself and not somebody else. Also my focus is not on awards but I do not mind being nominated. I have won an MTV award before.”

King Kiba also said that he has no beef with Diamond. He is open to working with him on a project if it makes sense to him. He once played Diamond’s song during his live session on IG.
