Why Caroline Kangogo’s 11-Year-old Son Moved Mourners to Tears during Her Burial (PHOTOS)

Caroline Jemutai Kangogo was laid to rest today at her parent’s home in Nyawa Village, Elgeyo Marakwet County as per her wishes. The funeral was attended by many people including her estranged husband Richard Ng’eno.

The 34-year-old cop and Richard (who is also a senior police officer) were blessed with two children; an 11-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter. Both of them were present during their mum’s burial.

The police failed to perform their normal rites characterized by a 21-gun salute simply because of the controversial circumstances surrounding her death. The fact that she met her tragic death after a more than 10-day manhunt launched on her did not make matters any better.

That notwithstanding, the people of Nyawa Village, her relatives, and close friends accorded the beautiful cop a befitting sendoff. To them, she was one of their own despite the demons that were on her case while she was alive. A convoy of several top of the range vehicles escorted her body to her final resting place.

Her fast born son appeared depressed and cried all through the ceremony. He made a moving speech by his mother’s grave, something that moved even the funeral organizers and guests to tears.

“You are our mum no matter what. Even in death, you still remain to be our mother. We love you so much,” said the boy as he read through her speech amid tears.

Richard Ng’eno had told journalists a few days ago that their two children were safe but very devastated. He appreciates the fact that they had a strong bond with their mother even though they went separate ways about eight years ago.

It is because of the children that Caroline spared her estranged husband’s life according to excerpts from her much publicized suicide notes.
