SAD NEWS: Secondary School In Kisii Loses Female Teacher To A Tragic Road Accident! R.I.P

Dark clouds covered Mogumo Secondary in Kisii County as tears flowed yesterday evening at the newly tarmacked Kisii-Migori Road. One of their female teachers by the name Vane Moraa Mautia was involved in a grisly road accident. The industrious female teacher unfortunately passed on. Eye witnesses say that she died on the spot.

Those who know the deceased describe her as a very wise, articulate and resourceful lady who is loved by her students.

She was the beloved wife to Vincent Magiya, a teacher at Kabeo Secondary School. Mr. Magiya is a former teacher of Daraja Mbili Secondary in Kisii Town. Late Madam Vane and Mr. Magiya were blessed with two boys. They will now be under the care of her husband, a situation that is normally very tough for many men to handle.

The secretary secondary of Kisii County branch of Kenya Union of Post-Secondary Education Teachers (KUPPET), Mr. Caleb Achimba sent condolences to the bereaved family and the school that are currently mourning. Here is what he had to say;

“It’s with deep sorrow that, on behalf of KUPPET Kisii fraternity, I send our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of our colleague madam Moraa Mautia who until her untimely demise was a dedicated teacher at Mogumo and a member of KUPPET Kisii  at this moment of grief. Fare thee well our sister till me meet again. (Achimba Caleb secretary secondary KUPPET Kisii).”

The Kisii-Migori Road is still under construction but it is almost complete. Slow bumps are yet to be installed and so vehicles move at extraordinary speeds.

Death is so cruel. It is very painful. We can only send our sincere condolences to the widower Mr.Magiya, Mogumo Secondary School staff, and the entire teaching fraternity.
