Dennis Itumbi is a journalist and a blogger who previously worked at Statehouse as the head of digital communications. He was at some point very powerful and closer to the president and his deputy having played a key role in the presidential campaigns.
Dennis however lost his job when the office was restructured and sources close to him say that he was sacked because he had grown so powerful to the liking of President Uhuru’s allies and his open support to the political activities of the deputy president.
Itumbi is the self-proclaimed spokesperson of the hustler Nation, a political wing that is supporting the presidential bid of William Ruto. He is the head of the Tanga Tanga communications and runs their social media pages. Anything that comes from this guy especially if it is related to Tanga Tanga is true until proven otherwise.
In one of his recent Facebook posts, Itumbi hinted at who is likely to be the running mate of William Ruto. He was responding to a newspaper headline that declared Mwangi Kiunjuri as the preferred running mate of the deputy president in the coming 2022 presidential elections.
Itumbi brushed off the suggestions saying that they will keep their political competitors guessing until they present their line-up.
The blogger exuded confidence that they are well aware of their political competitors’ dirty games of sponsoring newspaper headlines to get a reaction from them that will give them a hint of what UDA and the deputy president are planning.
From Itumbi’s post, it is clear that Mwangi Kiunjuri is not the one and that William Ruto is not picking his running mate anytime soon for fear of having massive fallout in his team that he was worked hard to build despite a strong assault from people in the president’s office.
