President Uhuru Kenyatta shocked the entire country last evening when he challenged his deputy and friend turned foe to resign. Uhuru told Ruto to stop the double speak and do the honorable thing and resign because he no longer supports any agenda put forth by his regime.
The visibly frustrated president wondered why Ruto has been sabotaging everything he has been trying to achieve and yet he still enjoys the trappings of power courtesy of his presidency.
This is the first time the president has directly addressed the deputy president and it looks like the lines have been drawn and the remaining few months will be tricky for the chief hustler who is looking to succeed the president.
Ruto has been complaining that he has been sidelined in a government he played a major role to build. What hurts him most is that junior officers who have jobs because of his hard work and resources are now undermining him.
Barely 24 hours after the controversial interview with the president, William Ruto’s allies have taken to there social media accounts to condemn the latest attempt by Government to frustrate the political activities of William Ruto.
According to Lang’ata member of parliament, Nixon Korir, the police under instructions from the ministry of internal security and officers in the office of the president have disrupted and chased away mourners in Taita Taveta.
“Disrupting a funeral in Taita Taveta because HE William Ruto is attending is petty and unnecessary. You have less than one year to exit”.
The deputy president William Ruto was scheduled to attend the burial ceremony of an MCA for Mahoo ward called Ronald Sagurani. The same sentiments have been echoed by Kiharu member of parliament Ndindi Nyoro.
“Police under instructions from above have disrupted and brought down tents at the burial service of Mahoo WARD MCA, the Late Hon Ronald Sagurani in Taita Taveta just because the Deputy President William Ruto was to attend.
