TSC Deployment from Primary to JSS, All Requirements

The time has come for deployment from primary to JSS. The Teachers Service Commission of Kenya (TSC) has offered 6,000 deployment spots for serving primary school teachers with a secondary education degree. Applications are due by March 18, 2024.

TSC intends to elevate PTE teachers by moving them to the junior secondary school department early next term.

The teachers’ employer has requested qualified professionals to apply for deployment by March 18th.

Primary school teachers who want to be assigned to JSS must be qualified to teach in secondary schools. For you to apply, you must fulfill the following requirements:
i) You must be an actively registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.

ii) Must be engaged as a primary school teacher by the Teachers Service Commission.

iii) You should not be currently serving an interdiction or going through a disciplinary process.

iv) You have a Diploma in Education with a minimum of C+ at KCSE (or equivalent), C+ in two teaching courses now given in the school curriculum (either under 8-4-4 or CBC), or two (2) principles and one (1) subsidiary pass at “A” level.

You should have a minimum of 8 units in each of the two teaching subjects you trained on.

Those who have earned a minimum grade C (plain) at KCSE (or its equivalent) and completed a Diploma in Education as well as a Bachelor Degree in Education are eligible to apply.

v) The degree certificate must be Bachelor of Education. Those that pursued Bachelor of Education (Primary Option) holders are ineligible.

Candidates are requested to produce the following documents throughout the verification process:

i) The original and a copy of the degree/diploma certificate.

ii) Original and copies of academic transcripts.

iii) The original and copy of SNE qualification (if applicable).

iv) Original and copy KCSE certificate (or similar);

v) A copy of your current payslip;

vi) Above all, you need a declaration from the Head of Institution that the teacher is currently serving in the school and is not serving an interdiction or going through a disciplinary process.
