Oliver Otieno, professionally known by his stage name Comedian YY is popular for his witty jokes. He shot into the limelight courtesy of the Churchill Show.
YY is the best example of how hard work pays. He revealed in an interview with Radio Jambo’s Masawe Japanni two years ago how he matured earlier in life due to family challenges. His relationship with his late father was not the best.
“My father used to come home drunk and physically abuse my mother. I used to be helpless as there was nothing I could do despite being the first born,” narrated YY in an interview.
It seems his sympathy towards his helpless mother made their bond to be even stronger after the father passed on while he was in Class Three. The funny thing is that he got his stage name from his father.
His father was given the name YY by his Kalenjin friends who thought he was very outgoing. Oliver decided to let his father’s legacy live on despite their strained relationship.
Comedian YY has decided to take his love for his mother a notch higher by building her a state of the art bungalow in their rural home in Homa Bay. He took to social media to share the good news with his fans and aren’t they excited!
He posted two photos with contrasting scenarios. In the first photo, his mum is in a rusty house looking all shabby and in the other one; he shows off the beautiful bungalow that he has built for her.
“No Long post Alert….NAKUPENDA MAMA YANGU❤❤❤,”wrote excited YY on her IG account.

This is indeed inspiring to young people out there who have different talents. Talent is wealth if used well. From Chai Moto News, we congratulate YY for completing this very noble project.
