He recently expressed optimism that she will make it out of the hospital in an interview with Citizen TV.

Kalonzo has lost a pillar in his life. He confessed to Citizen TV about missing her mobilizing skills in his political life.
Kalonzo went up about his wife’s struggle with an undiagnosed ailment that has kept her in and out of hospitals since 2015.
“On a personal level, it’s been a year of difficulties, but we’re thankful for it.”
It’s been a year in which I’ve witnessed God work his own miracles in my life and my family, and I am grateful to God for getting me through it.
“Pauline is doing well, and we thank God for that. That’s all I have to say.”

“I appreciate all of our friends who have been praying for us and for her; we continue to pray for God’s miraculous intervention in her life,” Kalonzo said in 2019.

Her death comes hours after the demise of another prominent person in Kenya, Charles Njonjo.
Charles Njonjo died peacefully in his home due to age-related conditions. They cremated his body at Kariakor Crematorium.
The family did this to fulfill his death wish. The former attorney general wanted a drama free funeral.
