Good News to Promoted Teachers: To ensure that newly promoted teachers’ paychecks reflect the higher compensation that comes with their promotion, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has started updating the payroll system.

TSC promoted 36,504 teachers

Salary increments are on the way for the 36,504 teachers were promoted from February 22, 2024. Many of them were promoted to non-administrative grades. Now TSC has begun preparing the payroll and this comes as a welcome relief to many of them.

The commission is aiming to complete updating the payroll by the end of June. The human resource department is handling a minimum of 2500 files per day. They want to complete the process by the end of June 2024.

The internal memo with the directive

In an internal memo signed by M.A. Sango, all unit heads were told to guarantee that at least 75% of the cases due by the end of May are captured. The memo was dated today. M.A Sango is the acting director of human resource management and development.

The directive states that because of tight deadlines, it is necessary to promote IPPD Authorized Data Capture Sheets more aggressively.

Many promoted teachers will get their enhanced salaries by end of May 2024

This step will help promote at least 75% of the cases by the end of May 2024. According to the memo, the HR department should factor the enhanced salaries in the May 2024 payroll.

Additionally, every HR officer is required to make adjustments to fifty (50) IPPD authorized data capture sheets every day, as stated in the memo.

In addition, it motivates unit heads to find new data capturing ways to handle the daily burden better.

TSC promoted eighty percent of the teachers to higher grade levels (C2–D5) through Advertisements No. 46/2023–69/2023 who remained at their current stations. This is according to the commission’s findings.

The memo emphasized the importance of updating all the promotions to payroll by June 15, 2024.
