Caroline Kangogo Given a Heroic Burial by Her Family, Relatives and Friends (PHOTO)

Late killer police officer Corporal Caroline Chemutai Kangogo was given a very decent sendoff today by her family, close relatives and friends. The funeral procession was characterized by a huge convoy of vehicles that snaked towards her home in Nyawa Village, Elgeyo Marakwet.

The police however refused to conduct their 21-gun salute ritual as they normally do when burying one of their own. This is because they consider her a villain after she allegedly murdered her fellow police officer, Police Constable John Ogweno in cold blood.

Burying the 34-year-old mother of two in her native home in Nyawa Village fulfills one of the demands written in her suicide note that was retrieved from the phone found near the scene where her body was recovered.

The beautiful lady gave very clear instructions not to be buried at her estranged husband’s home in Kericho County. The husband with whom they bore two children is also a police officer attached at Maritini Police Station in Mombasa.

Another wish of Caroline that was fulfilled is that of dressing her lifeless body in a beautiful wedding gown. She had said that her husband was not able to fulfill her childhood dream of walking down the aisle in a beautiful wedding dress.

As much as there are many Kenyans that judged Caroline for terminating the lives of two very promising Kenyans, her relatives and friends decided to accord her a befitting burial.

Her burial had been delayed after the government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor never showed up last Saturday to conduct an autopsy. The government then decided to retain the body at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital until postmortem was done; a move that saw her father shed tears live on national television.

As much as she has been laid to rest, a probe on the real cause of her death is yet to be concluded. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) took some more samples from her body for further investigation.
